Welcome to the TATSFIELD VILLAGE WEBSITE
www.tatsfield.org.uk

Welcome to St. Mary’s Tatsfield;
an Anglican church the Limpsfield and Tatsfield Team Ministry in the Diocese of Southwark. The building dates back to about 1075 and it is likely that a wooden church stood here before that. For all this time it has been the centre of a worshipping community for local people and visitors. Today we continue this Christian witness, strengthened by both Anglican and occasional Roman Catholic congregations.
We are a friendly and active church with a variety of services, religious festivals, celebrations and midweek gatherings which offer opportunities for prayer, study, discussion and friendship.
Throughout the year we welcome large numbers of visitors, particularly for weekend
teas, to our bi-
We also run a popular toddler group, ‘Tots on Top’ group on Monday mornings. Further information from Mrs. Jennifer Evans 01959 570190.
You are warmly invited to join us for services or any other activities.
We welcome enquires for weddings baptisms and funerals. If you would like any further information or would like to speak to me about anything else do get in touch.

Fairtrade – St Mary’s is a Fairtrade church; we use and promote Fairtrade products.
Charitable giving – Lent lunches, which raise money for charities benefiting from the Bishop’s annual Lent Call, as well as other charities that we support during the year.
Links – as part of our diocese’s support for the people of Zimbabwe, St Mary’s is linked with All Saints parish in Kadoma. We also have supportive links with an urban church, Christ Church, Brixton Road.

The Church building
The building is a delightful church seating a congregation of approximately 60 in a prominent position on high ground with extensive views to the South West. It is largely 11th and 13th century with Victorian and recent additions, all of which successfully complement one another. It is a listed Grade 2 building. The church is constructed of clunch with an infilling of flint and Kentish ragstone quoins and dressings. It has brick and stone buttresses with tiled shoulders and the Chancel and north side are rendered.
The churchyard sits high on the North Downs with spectacular views to the South. It is maintained with aspects of Conservation in mind almost entirely by volunteers. There is always a lot to be done and new volunteers are always welcome. For more information contact Gerald South 01959

CHURCH TEAS AT ST. MARY’S
Open Sundays 3 – 5 pm
From Easter Sunday 4 April
For many years this has been an important part of the summer season in Tatsfield. Organised by the church and supported by a large number of wonderful ‘Tatsfielders’, who help by baking and serving teas, it raises much needed funds for the upkeep and maintenance of this ancient village church. It provides a place of welcome, rest and relaxation for hundreds of very appreciative visitors.
Maureen Perrin has once again offered to ring round to try and fill all the slots on the rota, so please check your diaries and be ready when she gives you a call! If you have not been involved before but would like to help by serving behind the counter, washing up or making a cake then please phone Maureen on 577679
