TATSFIELD CHARITY BIKE RIDE – THE JOGLE
Saturday 09 September 2023
You may have seen in last month’s magazine that I am undertaking a charity bike ride called the Jogle (John O'Groats to Lands’ End) and, in the process, hoping to raise funds for Jan Akhtar's wonderful charities (Dementia, Alzheimer's UK and Alzheimer's Research). The bike ride starts on 9th September and over the following two weeks (come wind, rain or shine) will involve 1,050 miles with climbs of over 16,500 meters. By the end of August, I completed over 3,000 miles of training and 52,000 metres of climbing to get myself in shape and ready for the ride - you may have seen someone cycling around the area with multiple climbs of Ricketts Hill and the other hills in the area. Fortunately (thanks to Tatsfield's wonderful resident masseuse Alex Davies) I have managed to avoid injury on the way. I have had a great response to the initial article on fund raising from the community but if there is anyone else who would like to donate to the cause the Just giving page can be found on https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/mike-pendleton . Many thanks, Mike Pendleton
