NORTH DOWNS SINFONIA YOUNG SOLOISTS CONCERT
Sunday 04 January 2026
16:00 to 17:30
As is now our custom, NDS will be holding a short, totally informal concert on Sunday,
4th January 2026, at the Village Hall. There will be three young soloists performing, and
for most this will be their first experience of performing in public with an orchestra. They
are Susannah, who will play the Adagio for Cello and Orchestra by Bargiel, Michelle, a
Soprano (the first time that we have ever had a young soloist vocalist) singing the Berlioz
Vilanelle and Absence from Les Nuits D’Ete, and Aaron who will be playing the violin in
the exciting Saint-Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso for Violin and Orchestra.
Tickets cannot be booked and are free. Just turn up. The concert will start at 4pm, but if
you arrive at 3.45pm there will be free tea, coffee and biscuits, plus a chance of course
to chat to the orchestra members and the soloists.
The conductor will be Bryn Clarke, a good friend of the orchestra who has conducted it
many times before, and who always supports the concerts.
This promises to be an exciting concert and will show off the talents of the next
generation of musicians! Hope you can come!
