This November will see the 20th anniversary of North Downs Sinfonia, so to mark this 
occasion there will be an extra special concert on Saturday 14th. It will begin with a 
specially commissioned piece, the North Downs Overture, and this will be its world 
premiere. It has been composed by Daniel Pengelly. If you were lucky enough to have 
come to our Young Soloists concert in 2020 (when he was 14) you would have heard him 
play several well-known pieces, and in 2025 he played his own composition, his Flute 
Concerto No 2. He is now at music college and has composed this piece especially for 
NDS. An opportunity not to be missed!
